With its rugged steel construction, 11 channel select and effect on/off footswitches, and built-in volume/tweak pedal, Bass PODxt Live is ready to take years of real world gig abuse. Included are over 50 stompbox, synth, and studio effects, 28 amp models, plus 22 cab and 4 mic models. Bass PODxt Live delivers 6 simultaneous effects including stompbox and studio effects that can be flexibly routed to meet your unique sonic needs. Features include a dedicated compressor and 6 band semi-parametric EQ, discreet dry and modeled outputs, biamp output mode with selectable crossover, USB digital I/O, and a Variax Bass digital input so you can call up a fully customized bass, amp, and effect setup all by stepping on a single footswitch.

Bass PODXT Live has a simple, gig-ready setup that's adaptable to all your different stage and studio needs. Whether you're running it as a multi-effect pedal in front of a bass amp (or into its FX loop), or straight to the house PA, Bass PODXT Live is the best way to take total control of your sound at the gig.
USB - Bass PODXT Live's USB jack lets you connect to most computers and record Bass PODXT Live directly to a wide variety of popular digital recording software packages. We've even included a USB cable to get you started. You can get the required driver software — and easily get it installed along with any other Bass PODXT Live-related computer stuff — by using the free Line 6 Monkey software, which you can download at www.line6.com/monkey.
Variax Digital Input - Connect a Line 6 Variax® Bass here, and experience a whole new world of possibility and sound-control power. In addition to a direct digital audio connection between the bass and Bass PODXT Live, you can have the Variax change sounds each time you choose a new Channel Memory from Bass PODXT Live's footswitches or SELECT knob. And, you can even tweak the sound of your Variax Bass tone with Bass PODXT Live's built-in pedal!
MIDI In & Out - Connect Bass PODXT Live to your MIDI equipment to select Channel Memories (via Program Change messages), or automate Bass PODXT Live settings (via controllers and/or SySex).
Phones - When you want to listen with headphones, plug them in here. Bass PODXT Live automatically switches to Studio Mode whenever headphones are connected.
Output To Amp/Line - The unbalanced 1/4-inch connectors here get Bass PODXT Live feeding into the front of a bass amp, otherwise, choose LINE. The rear panel LEVEL knob sets the output level. Changing the OUTPUT level does not change your tone, so you can get the tone you want at any volume level.
The MODEL connector gives you the fully processed Amp+Cab+Effects+Mic signal generated by Bass PODXT Live. The D.I. connector gives you an unprocessed time- and phase-aligned version of your signal.
Aux Input - Connect a CD player, MP3 player, drum machine, virtual accordion, or other device here, and you'll hear it at Bass PODXT Live's headphone and Amp/Line outputs. Very handy for jamming along!
Input - Your bass goes here. Set the switch to norm for use with most passive pickup instruments. If you have to put two 9-volt batteries in your bass to make it rock, flip the switch to pad to prevent overdriving Bass PODXT Live's input in an unpleasant-sounding way.
Pedal 2 - You can add even more real-time control by connecting a standard expression pedal, such as the Line 6 EX-1. You'll be able to control Wah, Volume, and Tweak functions all at the same time!
On Stage
When you're playing on stage with Bass PODXT Live, you've got a choice of setups. Bass PODXT Live can be in between your bass and a bass amplifier so Bass PODXT Live acts as a tone-shaping front end for the amp. You can also plug straight out of Bass PODXT Live's outputs into the house system for awesome amp and effect tone without the hassle of mics and cabinets.
Or you can choose to run Bass PODXT Live into a power amp and speaker cabinets, using it as the ultimate preamp. Whichever setup you choose, all you have to do is dial up the right setting in Bass PODXT Live.
What are you connecting to?
STUDIO DIRECT - When plugging Bass PODXT Live straight into a P.A., or using in-ear monitoring systems, select STUDIO DIRECT for amazing amp and effect tone, night after night. Line 6's exclusive A.I.R. II processing serves up a virtual speaker-cabinet-air-microphone experience so good you may never use a regular bass amplifier and microphone on stage again. You're as powerful as the entire P.A. — and guaranteed to be in the mix!
LIVE W HORN, LIVE W H EQ, LIVE NO HORN, LIVE NO H EQ - Choose one of these settings when plugging into a combo amp, head and bass cabinets, or power amp and bass cabinets. Choose LIVE NO HORN or LIVE NO H EQ if your system doesn't have a horn or high frequency driver, or you've chosen to turn them off on your speaker cabinet. Choose the LIVE W HORN or LIVE W H EQ option if your system includes a horn or other high frequency driver. The Mic component of A.I.R. is turned off, and the Cabinet Models are revoiced to sound their best coming through the kind of setup you choose. The two "with EQ" modes also give you Tone Correction controls.
What is Tone Correction?
The idea of these Tone Correction controls is to adjust Bass PODXT Live's overall sound to compensate for the tonal response of the preamp section of the amp that you're plugging into. Line 6 has found that it is often necessary to reduce the low frequency or high frequency parts of the Bass PODXT Live to get decent results in this sort of a configuration, or shift the focus of the mid frequencies, so that's what these controls are set to do.
Bi-Amp Mode
Bass PODXT Live includes a Bi-Amp Mode. Bi-Amping is the technique of using a crossover to split a signal into its higher frequency and lower frequency portions, and sending each frequency range to a different amplification system. Lows would typically be sent to a power amp setup with lots of wattage and large diameter speakers, while highs would be sent to smaller diameter speakers and/or horns. Bass PODXT Live's Bi-Amp Mode includes selectable slope and frequency.

LowDown 300 Pro
The first ever line of bass amps from Line 6, LowDown delivers an incredible array of dialed-in, stage-perfected bass tones. While most bass combos focus on volume and clean tone, LowDown amps offer five must-have effects and five killer bass amp models, that cover everything from funk to classic rock and beyond. Line 6 LowDown Amp Models
Clean - Inspired by the Eden Traveler, this model is all about clean, funk and fusion bass tone. It'll give you all the warm lows and punchy highs you need.
R&B - Inspired by a 1968 B-15 Flip Top, this model is a tribute to those late 60's and early 70's clean fat bass tones. It is the kind of tone you here on most Motown recordings, as played by a pioneering young James Jamerson.
Rock - This model is inspired by the '74 Ampeg SVT. This workhorse has appeared on innumerable recordings and arena stages worldwide. And now all the tone of the 300-pound behemoth 8X10 and head is available in your combo!
Brit - Based on a '68 Marshall Super Bass, this model delivers the kind of overdriven bass sound brought to us by late '60's British rock pioneers like Cream and The Who.
Grind - As the name would suggest, this is for modern rock lovers, Alice in Chains to Mudvayne and Rage Against The Machine. Based on a distorted SansAmp PSA-1 into an SVT in addition to a direct clean bass signal mixed in, this model gives you that angry, clear and punchy aggression that takes your sound to Defcon 1.
Synth - Sitting at the back of the model knob is this secret weapon that turns LowDown into a '70s classic bass synth. From funk to modern rock, this synth model delivers incredible tones and tracks every dynamic move you make with ease!
Onboard Effects
LowDown features a critical set of effects that no bass player should be without! You get a full time, vintage studio compressor model, and the Smart FX knob dials up three different heavyweight effects that are custom tailored for bass.
Envelope filter - Based on a Q-Tron, this is the baddest envelope filter on the planet. This effect can be heard on tons of major funk and rock tunes.
Octaver - Based on the EBS OctaBass, this effect produces a single note one octave below the pitch of the played note, adding a powerful new vibe to your sound.

Bass PODxt Pro
Using state-of-the-art, patented technology, Line 6 has released the latest generation of their award-winning Bass POD Series, the Bass PODxt Pro. This new unit is packed with a re-engineered tone engine, all new amp and cab models, as well as an expanded and improved set of effects. From the stage to the studio, the Bass PODxt Pro allows the user access to world-class bass tone with over 50 sought-after stomp box, studio, and synth effects, 28 vintage and contemporary classic amp models, and 22 models of the most renowned cabinets ever built (see specifications below). In addition, Bass PODxt Pro delivers six simultaneous effects that can be routed to meet your unique sonic and tone-shaping needs along with a dedicated high-end compressor and 6-band semi-parametric EQ that are available at all times. The effects include models of classic distortion boxes, delays, choruses, flangers, compressors, as well as synth effects, filter effects, and rich reverbs. With painstaking analysis, the engineers at Line 6 have paid fanatical attention to detail, and this is especially apparent in the vintage bass amplification department. Exclusive to Line 6, the Bass PODxt Pro features the latest generation A.I.R. technology (acoustically integrated recording). This revolutionary A.I.R. technology is the key component to Line 6's successful recreation of all the elements including amps, cabinets, speakers, microphones, and the recording areas that interact and contribute to great bass tone.
Front Panel:
The first feature that jumps out at the user is the new LCD window for deep patch editing. From this user-friendly LCD, you can view all the modifications made upon tweaking any of the front panel's various controls including Amp Models, Effects, Drive, Tone Controls (Bass, Lo Mid, Hi Mid, Treble), Channel Volume, and the Compressor which is based on the famous LA-2A tube studio compressor. Inspired by the classics, the Bass PODxt Pro features 64 user/factory presets. Many of these presets are based upon some of the most popular tracks ever recorded, offering the user access to a mind-boggling collection of the most revered bass rigs. Admittedly, I am not a big effects tweaker. Unlike every other effects processor that I have ever tested and owned in the past, I found that the Bass PODxt Pro's preset effects sounded great and didn't require any tweaking at all in order to dial up cool bass tones. Although, with the deep editing and flexibility offered by the Bass PODxt Pro, you will have the option to tweak every parameter imaginable using the many controls accessible from the front panel. Several buttons provide multiple functions depending on what is selected in the LCD. If you adjust the amp model control to bring up the amp emulation that you desire, the Bass PODxt Pro automatically matches that particular amp model with an appropriate cabinet and microphone setup. In fact, when you select an Amp Model, all of the amp-related settings including drive and the tone controls automatically load. All of these amp-associated defaults may be customized to fit your own individual preferences. To locate the desired tone you want to hear, simply press a button or tweak a knob to switch cabs, amps, effects, and microphones and their placement. You have complete customization available at your fingertips, and the possible combinations are almost limitless. The Effects Tweak control varies different aspects of the effect you've selected and each parameter's settings is viewable in the LCD window so you know exactly what you are tweaking. The Select control allows you to dial through the Bass PODxt Pro's 64 channel memories (16 banks of 4 channels each), a huge collection of pre-programmed amp and effect selections. With the four soft buttons located below the LCD, you can control different operations depending on what you have highlighted in the LCD. The Effect On/Off buttons located above the LCD allow you to activate or disable the 6-band parametric EQ as well as the loaded stomp-box, modulation, and delay/reverb effects. If you press the CAB/A.I.R. button, you can choose a cabinet model to pair with an amplifier and select a microphone and its "room" to be used on a cabinet. You can save all of your personalized tones with the Save button. Push the Edit button and you have deep editing control over all the parameters and settings. Simply tap on the Tap button to control the timing of the delay effects. The I/O & Dig Select button serves several functions including selecting the connection of your input source to the Bass PODxt Pro, configuring optimal studio or live settings, and bi-amping your rig among other options. Using the headphones output, you can practice your bass skills anywhere with the Bass PODxt Pro. And, why spend hundreds of dollars on a hand-held tuner that might get lost when the Bass PODxt Pro also comes with a built-in chromatic tuner that offers precision tuning at the touch of a button?
Back Panel:
The back panel of the Bass PODxt Pro is a session bassist's and studio engineer's dream come true. Every possible output you could need in the studio or live on stage can be found on the back panel. With its XLR and 1/4 inch outputs, 24-bit/96k digital ins and outs (AES/EBU & S/PDIF), effects loop, MIDI, and USB connectors, you can connect the Bass PODxt Pro to any type of analog, digital, or computer audio hardware that you need. The 1/4 inch outputs can be used in Studio, Live, or Bi-Amp Modes. In Studio Mode, the Bass PODxt Pro is ready to be plugged into a recording device with -10dBV unbalanced inputs. In Live Mode, the speaker simulation is disabled and ready to be connected to an onstage amp. When Bi-Amp Mode is utilized, the low frequency spectrum of your signal is sent out the D.I. output while the high frequencies go out the Model output. Each output may then be connected to discrete power amps and speaker cabinets for independent amplification of the low and high frequencies. The D.I. output provides a line level direct signal that is perfectly time and phase aligned with the processed (amp-cab-mic-effects) signal driven out the Model output. Ever record a track and then later wish you wouldn't have used a particular effect, amp, or cabinet? By using the Analog Reamping input/output connections, you can send a dry unprocessed signal to a recording device and then re-route it right back into the Bass PODxt Pro. This feature allows you to hear an effected bass signal while recording an unprocessed signal at the same time to your recording device. Later, during mixdown, you may choose to alter your signal with any of the Bass PODxt Pro's controls. By way of the MIDI jack, the user may control every aspect of the Bass PODxt Pro. Using MIDI, you may select any Bass PODxt Pro channel, tweak any parameter, and even backup your Bass PODxt Pro's memory to your computer. Although the Bass PODxt Pro contains practically every stomp box and studio effect you could ever need, the unit also contains a programmable effects loop so you can run your old rackmount effects processors in either series or parallel. And, as if all of these previously mentioned ins and outs weren't enough, the Bass PODxt Pro supports direct digital recording to your PC or Mac with its USB connector and free downloadable drivers and the functionality to play back audio from your computer like a soundcard through your bass cabinet! Forget about having to haul cabinets, amplifiers, and heavy rack cases to and from the studio. Simply plug into the Bass PODxt Pro and you can record straight into Pro Tools or any other software-driven recording application. The Bass PODxt Pro is compatible with Line 6's FBV Series foot controllers including the FBV, FBV Shortboard, and the FBV4. These optional foot controllers provide access to 64 presets via hands-free channel switches, large backlit name display, dedicated stomp box on/off switches, combination wah/volume pedal, tap tempo switch, and expression pedal input among other features. Many of these presets are based upon some of the most popular tracks ever recorded, offering the user access to a mind-boggling collection of the most revered bass rigs. Admittedly, I am not a big effects tweaker. Unlike every other effects processor that I have ever tested and owned in the past, I found that the Bass PODxt Pro's preset effects sounded great and didn't require any tweaking at all in order to dial up cool bass tones. Although, with the deep editing and flexibility offered by the Bass PODxt Pro, you will have the option to tweak every parameter imaginable using the many controls accessible from the front panel. Several buttons provide multiple functions depending on what is selected in the LCD. If you adjust the amp model control to bring up the amp emulation that you desire, the Bass PODxt Pro automatically matches that particular amp model with an appropriate cabinet and microphone setup. In fact, when you select an Amp Model, all of the amp-related settings including drive and the tone controls automatically load. All of these amp-associated defaults may be customized to fit your own individual preferences. To locate the desired tone you want to hear, simply press a button or tweak a knob to switch cabs, amps, effects, and microphones and their placement. You have complete customization available at your fingertips, and the possible combinations are almost limitless. The Effects Tweak control varies different aspects of the effect you've selected and each parameter's settings is viewable in the LCD window so you know exactly what you are tweaking. The Select control allows you to dial through the Bass PODxt Pro's 64 channel memories (16 banks of 4 channels each), a huge collection of pre-programmed amp and effect selections. With the four soft buttons located below the LCD, you can control different operations depending on what you have highlighted in the LCD. The Effect On/Off buttons located above the LCD allow you to activate or disable the 6-band parametric EQ as well as the loaded stomp-box, modulation, and delay/reverb effects. If you press the CAB/A.I.R. button, you can choose a cabinet model to pair with an amplifier and select a microphone and its "room" to be used on a cabinet. You can save all of your personalized tones with the Save button. Push the Edit button and you have deep editing control over all the parameters and settings. Simply tap on the Tap button to control the timing of the delay effects. The I/O & Dig Select button serves several functions including selecting the connection of your input source to the Bass PODxt Pro, configuring optimal studio or live settings, and bi-amping your rig among other options. Using the headphones output, you can practice your bass skills anywhere with the Bass PODxt Pro. And, why spend hundreds of dollars on a hand-held tuner that might get lost when the Bass PODxt Pro also comes with a built-in chromatic tuner that offers precision tuning at the touch of a button?
Back Panel:
The back panel of the Bass PODxt Pro is a session bassist's and studio engineer's dream come true. Every possible output you could need in the studio or live on stage can be found on the back panel. With its XLR and 1/4 inch outputs, 24-bit/96k digital ins and outs (AES/EBU & S/PDIF), effects loop, MIDI, and USB connectors, you can connect the Bass PODxt Pro to any type of analog, digital, or computer audio hardware that you need. The 1/4 inch outputs can be used in Studio, Live, or Bi-Amp Modes. In Studio Mode, the Bass PODxt Pro is ready to be plugged into a recording device with -10dBV unbalanced inputs. In Live Mode, the speaker simulation is disabled and ready to be connected to an onstage amp. When Bi-Amp Mode is utilized, the low frequency spectrum of your signal is sent out the D.I. output while the high frequencies go out the Model output. Each output may then be connected to discrete power amps and speaker cabinets for independent amplification of the low and high frequencies. The D.I. output provides a line level direct signal that is perfectly time and phase aligned with the processed (amp-cab-mic-effects) signal driven out the Model output. Ever record a track and then later wish you wouldn't have used a particular effect, amp, or cabinet? By using the Analog Reamping input/output connections, you can send a dry unprocessed signal to a recording device and then re-route it right back into the Bass PODxt Pro. This feature allows you to hear an effected bass signal while recording an unprocessed signal at the same time to your recording device. Later, during mixdown, you may choose to alter your signal with any of the Bass PODxt Pro's controls. By way of the MIDI jack, the user may control every aspect of the Bass PODxt Pro. Using MIDI, you may select any Bass PODxt Pro channel, tweak any parameter, and even backup your Bass PODxt Pro's memory to your computer. Although the Bass PODxt Pro contains practically every stomp box and studio effect you could ever need, the unit also contains a programmable effects loop so you can run your old rackmount effects processors in either series or parallel. And, as if all of these previously mentioned ins and outs weren't enough, the Bass PODxt Pro supports direct digital recording to your PC or Mac with its USB connector and free downloadable drivers and the functionality to play back audio from your computer like a soundcard through your bass cabinet! Forget about having to haul cabinets, amplifiers, and heavy rack cases to and from the studio. Simply plug into the Bass PODxt Pro and you can record straight into Pro Tools or any other software-driven recording application. The Bass PODxt Pro is compatible with Line 6's FBV Series foot controllers including the FBV, FBV Shortboard, and the FBV4. These optional foot controllers provide access to 64 presets via hands-free channel switches, large backlit name display, dedicated stomp box on/off switches, combination wah/volume pedal, tap tempo switch, and expression pedal input among other features. The Bass PODxt Pro is also compatible with the FBV4 foot switch for access to four channels.
